Unrecognized respiratory morbidity among adolescents and young adults in Nigeria: Implications for future health outcomes

This cross-sectional study evaluated the prevalence of respiratory symptoms and the relationship to spirometry abnormalities and respiratory diagnoses in 640 medical students aged 16–35 years in Lagos, Nigeria. Pre-bronchodilator lung function testing (FEV1, FVC, FEV1/FVC ratio) was undertaken using the Vitalograph Pneumotrac spirometer with Spirotrac software.
