Hidden morbidity: The results of a collaborative community chronic obstructive pulmonary disease screening initiative

This study evaluated the characteristics, symptom burden, and flow of subjects in a community-based COPD screening and public awareness initiative in Hull, United Kingdom. Lung function testing was undertaken using the Vitalograph COPD‐6 device, with patients considered screen positive if FEV1 was <80% or if FEV1 was ≥80% but the FEV1/FEV6 ratio was <0.72.
