Lung function tests in children with and without sickle cell anaemia at south western Nigerian tertiary hospitals

This study examined the extent of changes in lung and pulmonary tissue function in children with sickle cell anemia (n=74), as compared with healthy control children (n=73), in Nigeria. As part of the study, lung function (FEV1, FVC) was assessed using a Vitalograph wedge bellows spirometer.
