Changes of DNA methylation are associated with changes in lung function during adolescence

Disease Areas:
Population study
Device Types:
In2itive

This study evaluated whether site-specific DNA methylation at age 10 and 18 years is associated with changes in lung function during adolescence in individuals enrolled in the population-based Isle of Wight cohort in the United Kingdom; the generalizability of the findings were examined in two replication cohorts (the ALSPAC cohort in the United Kingdom and the BAMSE cohort in Sweden). ALSPAC participants underwent lung function testing at age 8 and 15 years using a Vitalograph In2itive spirometer.
