This study examined the association between lung function and physical fitness in children and young adults enrolled in two population-based cohort studies in Odense, Denmark (assessments at ages 9, 15, 21 and 29 years) and Dunedin, New Zealand (assessments at ages 15, 26, 32 and 38 years). Pulmonary function testing at ages 21 and 29 years in the Danish study was undertaken using the Vitalograph COMPACT spirometer.
