Association between lung function and risk of microvascular diseases in patients with diabetes: A prospective cohort and Mendelian randomization study

This prospective Mendelian randomization study examined the relationship between lung function and the risk of microvascular diseases in 14,617 individuals with type 1 or type 2 diabetes mellitus enrolled in the UK Biobank. Lung function testing (FEV1, FVC) in the UK Biobank was undertaken at the baseline visit using a Vitalograph Pneumotrac spirometer.
