Comparison of the effect of beclometasone/formoterol in asthma patients after methacholine-induced bronchoconstriction: A noninferiority study using metered dose vs. dry powder inhaler

This randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, three-way crossover study compared the onset of bronchodilator action with the Foster® NEXThaler versus the Foster® pMDI using methacholine-induced bronchoconstriction in 65 adult patients with asthma. The primary endpoint was change in FEV1 at 5 minutes after study drug administration; FEV1 was measured using the Vitalograph Pneumotrac 6800 spirometer.
