Eosinophilic airway inflammation and exacerbations of COPD: A randomised controlled trial

Disease Areas:
COPD
Device Types:

This randomized trial evaluated whether a management strategy focused on optimizing symptoms as well as reducing eosinophilic airway inflammation was associated with a reduction in COPD exacerbations, as compared with a strategy focused on symptoms alone; overall, 90 patients with moderate-to-severe COPD were included in the study. Pulmonary testing was performed in all patients using a Vitalograph spirometer.
