First- and second-trimester fetal size and asthma outcomes at age 10 years

This longitudinal study evaluated whether first- and second-trimester fetal size was associated with asthma symptoms and lung function in later childhood. At age 10 years, the parents of participants completed a questionnaire related to the presence of asthma and use of asthma medications; in addition, children were invited to hospital to undergo a detailed clinical assessment. Spirometry was measured using a Vitalograph Pneumotrac spirometer with incentive software (Spirotrac).
