Parental height in relation to offspring coronary heart disease: Examining transgenerational influences on health using the west of Scotland Midspan Family Study

This study examined the influence of parental height on the risk of coronary heart disease in their offspring; the study included 2306 offspring (age 30–59 years) born to individuals enrolled in the Scotland Midspan Family Study. Outcome measures included pulmonary function testing (FEV1), which was measured using a Vitalograph Pneumotrac spirometer with Spirotrac software.
