Point-of-care blood eosinophils to predict preschool wheeze attacks

Disease Areas:
Other
Device Types:
Alpha

This study assessed the feasibility of point-of-care blood eosinophil testing in 73 preschool-aged children with recurrent wheeze, and examined the relationship between eosinophil counts and symptoms, lung function, and future wheeze attacks. Lung function endpoints included FEV, FVC, FEV1/FVC ratio, and bronchodilator reversibility, which were measured using a Vitalograph Alpha spirometer.
