Pre-adolescence DNA methylation is associated with lung function trajectories from pre-adolescence to adulthood

Disease Areas:
Population study
Device Types:
In2itive

This study evaluated epigenome-wide associations of DNA methylation at age 10 years with lung function trajectories from ages 10 to 26 years. Trajectory analyses were undertaken using data from children enrolled in the population-based Isle of Wight cohort in the United Kingdom, with the potential generalizability of the results examined in a replication sample (ALSPAC cohort). ALSPAC participants underwent lung function testing at age 8, 15, and 24 years using a Vitalograph In2itive spirometer.
