Serum surfactant protein D, lung function decline, and incident chronic obstructive pulmonary disease: A longitudinal study in Beijing

This longitudinal study examined whether serum surfactant protein D was associated with lung function decline and incident COPD in 772 individuals aged 40–70 years in Beijing, China. As part of the study, lung function testing (FEV1, FEV6) was undertaken using the portable Vitalograph COPD-6 device.
