The effect of long-term azithromycin on objective and subjective cough in chronic respiratory disease: A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomised controlled trials and noncomparative studies

This systematic review and meta‑analysis examined the effect of azithromycin on subjectively and objectively measured cough, based on the results of six randomized controlled trials and non-comparative studies that collectively included 275 patients. One of the main outcomes of interest was patient-reported outcome measures of cough; the other main outcome was objective cough count, which included use of the Vitalograph VitaloJAK cough counter.
