Variants in ADIPOQ gene are linked to adiponectin levels and lung function in young males independent of obesity

Disease Areas:
Population study
Device Types:
In2itive

This study examined how polymorphisms in the ADIPOQ, ADIPOR1, and ADIPOR2 genes were related to serum adiponectin levels, BMI, and adiposity in 1056 males aged 18 years in Cyprus; a secondary aim of the study was to evaluate whether lung function levels in study participants varied in association with BMI, adipokine levels, and polymorphisms in adipokine-related genes. Lung function was measured using the Vitalograph In2itive spirometer.
