Role of pulmonary function in predicting new-onset cardiometabolic diseases and cardiometabolic multimorbidity

This study examined the relationship between pulmonary function and risk of cardiometabolic disease and cardiometabolic multimorbidity in subjects enrolled in the UK Biobank with (n=35,034) and without (n=357,433) baseline cardiometabolic disease. Pulmonary function was assessed at a baseline physical examination, and was measured using a calibrated Vitalograph Pneumotrac spirometer.
