This thesis described outcomes of a repeated-measures study designed to validate a novel vocal demand task in 30 young-to-early-middle-aged, vocally healthy and vocally untrained individuals. During the study training session, pulmonary function measurements (FVC, FEV1, PIF, PEF) were collected using a Vitalograph Pneumotrac spirometer. Prior to each training session, the spirometer was calibrated using a Vitalograph 3L syringe.
