Preserved ratio impaired spirometry, metabolomics, and the risk of type 2 diabetes

This study examined the relationship between PRISm and the risk of developing type 2 diabetes, including the role of circulating metabolites in any such relationship. Data were obtained from 72,683 individuals enrolled in the UK Biobank who did not have diabetes at baseline. Lung function testing in the UK Biobank was undertaken using the Vitalograph Pneumotrac spirometer.
