A large-scale genome-wide association analysis of lung function in the Chinese population identifies novel loci and highlights shared genetic aetiology with obesity

Disease Areas:
Population study
Device Types:
Spirotrac,Pneumotrac

This study used data from the China Kadoorie Biobank and UK Biobank to: (i) identify novel genetic risk loci for lung function traits in a Chinese population; (ii) investigate shared genetic effects between lung function and obesity traits in Chinese and European populations; and (iii) evaluate whether BMI affects lung function. Within the UK Biobank, lung function testing (FEV1, FVC) was undertaken using the Vitalograph Pneumotrac spirometer.
