A total diet replacement weight management program for difficult-to-treat asthma associated with obesity: A randomized controlled feasibility trial

This randomized controlled single-center study compared the use of a dietitian-led total diet replacement program, as compared with usual care, for the improvement of asthma symptom and quality of life in 35 obese patients with difficult-to-treat asthma. Various anthropomorphic tests were conducted as part of the study, including lung function testing (FEV1, FVC, FEV1/FVC ratio, PEF) using the Vitalograph Alpha spirometer and FeNO testing using the NIOX VERO device.
