Impaired pulmonary function increases the risk of gout: Evidence from a large cohort study in the UK Biobank

Disease Areas:
Population study
Device Types:
Pneumotrac,Spirotrac

This study examined the relationship between pulmonary function and the risk of developing gout, based on data from 420,002 participants who were enrolled in the UK Biobank. Pulmonary function parameters (FEV1, FVC, FEV1/FVC ratio) were derived from spirometric testing undertaken using a calibrated Vitalograph Pneumotrac spirometer.
