Intermittent versus daily regimen of prednisolone in ambulatory boys with Duchenne muscular dystrophy: A randomized, open-label trial

This single-center, open-label, randomized trial compared the efficacy of daily versus intermittent steroid regimens in 72 ambulatory male children with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. The primary endpoint was average score on manual muscle testing after 6 months of treatment. As part of the study, lung function testing was undertaken using the Vitalograph Alpha spirometer.
