Does lung function predict the risk of disability pension? An 11-year register-based follow-up study

This study evaluated the effect of spirometry parameters on the risk of all-cause disability (as measured by uptake of the disability pension) in 3386 working adults aged ≥30 years who were enrolled in the Health 2000 Survey in Finland. As part of the study, lung function (FEV1 and FVC) was measured using a Vitalograph wedge bellows spirometer.
