Electronic patient-reported outcomes

This book chapter outlined the principles of respiratory- and pulmonary-related electronic patient-reported outcome measures used in clinical trials. Use of single integrated devices that include a peak flow meter as well as an electronic diary designed to collect patient-reported outcome data was covered. These devices (eg the Vitalograph In2itive e-Diary) simplify data collection by capturing both physiological data and patient-reported data.
