Neutrophil cell death, activation and bacterial infection in cystic fibrosis

This study examined the association between levels of neutrophil apoptosis and sputum microbiology in 34 clinically stable patients with cystic fibrosis who were matched as closely as possible for lung function, age, sex, and genetics. FEV1 and FVC were measured using a Vitalograph spirometer.
