Occupational exposures and exacerbations of asthma and COPD—A general population study

This study examined the relationship between concurrent inhalant occupational exposures and exacerbations of asthma and/or COPD in 7,768 subjects enrolled in two large cohort studies in Denmark. Individuals were included if they self-reported a diagnosis of asthma or if they had airflow limitation per the results of spirometry. Pre-bronchodilator FEV1 and FVC was measured in a proportion of patients using a Vitalograph spirometer.
