This study evaluated the prevalence of COPD in two cohorts of patients with a smoking history of ≥10 pack‑years who had been hospitalized for acute myocardial infarction. A preliminary diagnosis of clinically significant COPD (defined as an FEV1/FEV6 ratio <0.7 with an FEV1 of <80%) was made using the Vitalograph COPD-6 device.
