This cross-sectional, case-control study evaluated respiratory muscle function in 14 patients with genetically proven facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy, as compared with 14 age-, gender-, and BMI-matched control subjects. Lung function testing (FEV1, FVC) was undertaken using a Vitalograph electronic spirometer.
