Transitioning aerosol from hospital to home; Role of training and follow-up

This book chapter outlines the role of training and follow-up for ensuring correct use of aerosol-producing devices in patients who have transferred from a hospital-based to a home-based setting. Topics covered include challenges of aerosol therapy, the role of counseling in patient adherence, and inhaler selection based on patent preference. The different types of devices used to assess inhalation techniques for aerosol therapy were reviewed, including the Vitalograph AIM.
