Inhaled alkaline hypertonic divalent salts reduce refractory chronic cough frequency

This exploratory, single-blind, nasal-saline-controlled study examined the cough-suppression efficacy of nasally inhaled alkaline hypertonic divalent salts in 12 patients with refractory chronic cough. During each study visit, lung function testing (FEV1, FVC, FEV1/FVC ratio) was undertaken using a Vitalograph dry wedge spirometer.
