Management of severe acute asthma - Comparison between inhaled vs systemic corticosteroid

This study evaluated inhaled beclomethasone dipropionate at 10 minute intervals for 2 hours, as compared with intravenous hydrocortisone, for emergency room use in 100 adults with severe acute asthma receiving oxygen and salbutamol nebulization. As part of the study, FEV1 and FVC were measured using a Vitalograph COMPACT spirometer.
