Mepolizumab for the treatment of refractory chronic cough in patients with eosinophilic airways disease (MUCOSA): a randomised, double-blind, parallel-group, placebo-controlled trial

The MUCOSA trial evaluated whether mepolizumab could reduce cough in patients with refractory chronic cough and eosinophilic airways disease despite inhaled corticosteroid treatment. The VitaloJAK ambulatory cough monitor was used to objectively measure 24-hour, awake, and sleep cough frequency as the study’s primary efficacy outcome.
