Outcome-based definition of the lower limit of normal in spirometry: A study of 26,000 young adult men

This study evaluated the relationship between spirometric abnormalities and clinical outcomes (eg respiratory symptoms, all-cause and respiratory mortality) based on data from 26,091 men from the general population in Norway. Pre-bronchodilator lung function data (FEV1, FVC, FEV1/FVC ratio) were obtained using a Vitalograph dry wedge spirometer.
