Association of air pollution exposure with exercise-induced oxygen desaturation in COPD

Disease Areas:
COPD,Air pollution
Device Types:
Spirotrac

This retrospective, cross-sectional study examined the prevalence of oxygen desaturation during exercise in 141 patients with emphysematous COPD; in addition, the study evaluated the association between air pollution and exercise-induced desaturation, emphysema severity, and dynamic hyperinflation. As part of the study, lung function testing (FEV1, FVC, FEV1/FVC ratio) was undertaken using a Vitalograph spirometer with Spirotrac V software.
