Levels of PM10 and PM2.5 and respiratory health impacts on school-going children in Kenya

This cross-sectional study examined levels of particulate matter with an aerodynamic diameter <10µm and <2.5µm in schools located in an industrialized suburb in Kenya, as well as the impact of particulate matter exposure on the respiratory health of children; overall, 578 pupils aged 9–14 years were included in the study. Lung function testing was carried out using a calibrated Vitalograph COMPACT spirometer.
