Obstructive lung disease and quality of life after cure of multi-drug-resistant tuberculosis in Uganda: A cross-sectional study

Disease Areas:
COPD
Device Types:
Spirotrac,Pneumotrac,3L Syringe

This cross-sectional study evaluated the prevalence of COPD in 95 patients who had been treated for and were considered cured of multi-drug-resistant tuberculosis in Uganda. As part of the study, patients underwent lung function testing (FEV1, FVC) using the Vitalograph Pneumotrac spirometer; all patients underwent pre-bronchodilator assessments, with post-bronchodilator measurements taken in those meeting criteria for airway obstruction. Spirometers underwent daily calibration using a 3L syringe.
