Prevalence, patterns, and factors associated with abnormal lung function among children with sickle cell disease in Uganda: A cross-sectional study

This cross-sectional study evaluated the prevalence, patterns, and factors associated with abnormal lung function in 332 children aged 6–18 years with sickle cell disease at a tertiary care hospital in Uganda. As part of the study, pre- and post-bronchodilator lung function testing (FEV1, FVC, FEV1/FVC ratio) was undertaken using a calibrated Vitalograph Pneumotrac spirometer.
