Cough sound spectro-temporal analysis and automated detection using vision transformers

This study described the development and evaluation of an automated cough detection system based on spectro-temporal analysis and Vision Transformer architecture. Model development was based on cough recordings from the RaDAR database, obtained from individuals from nine different diagnostic groups. All recordings were obtained using the Vitalograph VitaloJAK cough monitoring device, which captures cough sounds using a lapel microphone and a contact microphone.
