Understanding asthma and the metabolic syndrome - A Nigerian report

This was a cross-sectional study designed to determine the prevalence of metabolic syndrome among 158 patients with asthma at a tertiary teaching hospital in Lagos, Nigeria. Pulmonary function testing (PEF and pre- and post-bronchodilator FEV1 and FVC) was conducted using the Vitalograph desktop Alpha spirometer.
