Psychological distress and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in the Renfrew and Paisley (MIDSPAN) study

This study examined whether psychological distress was a predictor of COPD in 1682 men and 2203 women enrolled in a population-based study in Glasgow, Scotland. Patients underwent a screening examination, during which various measurements were taken; this included FEV1, which was assessed using a Vitalograph spirometer.
